The John Deere 2256 was produced from 1997 to 2011 and is the successor to the 2056. This deer is driven by a John Deere PowerTech PVX 6081h 6-cylinder turbo engine with 6.8 litre displacement and 162 k/W (220 HP). The feeder house is also used in the 2256, it enables particularly uniform threshing and offers the driver an excellent overview of the cutting deck. The 80 HP reverser makes light work of larger obstructions. Optionally, the John Deere 2256 can be equipped with a stone trap which can be opened from both sides. In the John Deere 2256, the threshing takes place in a drum of 660 mm diameter and 1,400 mm width. There is an optional secondary threshing cylinder of 400 mm diameter.
The John Deere 2256 contains five shakers of 4600 mm in length. This results in a shaker area of 6,4 m2. The screen surface is 4,84 m2 in total. A major advantage of the 2200 series as compared to the 2000 series is that all models can be equipped with larger tyres. Thus, the total width can be reduced by up to 30 cm.
